Role as a Secondary SENCO:

As the SENCO, you will lead the school’s SEND provision, working closely with staff, students, and families to ensure all learners have access to high-quality education and support. You will drive the school’s commitment to inclusion and play a key role in shaping policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school
  • Managing the SEND team, including teaching assistants and specialists
  • Overseeing the identification, assessment, and monitoring of students with additional needs
  • Supporting teachers in delivering inclusive and differentiated lessons
  • Liaising with external agencies, parents, and carers to provide holistic support for students
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory SEND requirements and maintaining up-to-date records
  • Delivering CPD to staff on best practices for supporting students with additional needs
