Role as Head of Geography:
As the Head of Geography, you will lead and inspire a passionate department, shaping the vision for teaching and learning in Geography. You will have the opportunity to oversee the development of a dynamic curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all students while fostering a love for Geography. You will also be responsible for the leadership, mentoring, and development of a team of teachers, while contributing to whole-school initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading and managing the Geography department to deliver high-quality teaching and learning
- Developing and implementing an engaging and challenging Geography curriculum across KS3-KS5
- Ensuring students meet or exceed expectations in Geography GCSE and A-Level exams
- Providing leadership and mentoring to Geography teachers, fostering professional growth
- Leading departmental initiatives and extracurricular activities related to Geography, such as field trips and clubs
- Working collaboratively with the senior leadership team to improve student outcomes and department success
