Role as Teacher of Art / Head of Art:

As a Teacher of Art, you will be responsible for teaching a broad and engaging Art curriculum across KS3-KS5, inspiring students to develop their artistic skills and creativity. As Head of Art, you will also take on the leadership role, overseeing the direction of the department, managing resources, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching. You will be part of a department that values innovation and creative thinking, fostering a love for the arts in students.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and delivering inspiring Art lessons across KS3-KS5
  • Helping students develop technical skills and artistic expression in a variety of media
  • Supporting GCSE and A-Level students with portfolio development and exam preparation
  • Leading the Art department, including curriculum development and staff management (for Head of Art)
  • Organising extracurricular activities such as art exhibitions, workshops, and trips
  • Collaborating with other departments to enrich the overall learning experience

  • A qualified Art Teacher with QTS (or currently in teacher training as an ECT)
  • A strong academic background in Art and Design, with experience in teaching at secondary school level

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills (for Head of Art role)
