Role as English Teacher & KS4 English Coordinator:

As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, inspiring students to develop a passion for literature, language, and creative expression. As the KS4 English Coordinator, you will take on the leadership of the KS4 English curriculum, ensuring excellent outcomes for students, managing staff, and driving the continued development of the department.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and creative English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Supporting students in their development of both reading and writing skills
  • Coordinating and overseeing the delivery of the KS4 English curriculum
  • Providing leadership and support to the English department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning
  • Preparing students for GCSE English exams and supporting their progress
  • Organising extracurricular activities, such as literary clubs, theatre trips, and writing workshops
  • Collaborating with other departments to foster cross-curricular connections and creativity

  • A qualified English Teacher with QTS (or currently in teacher training as an ECT)
  • Strong academic background in English Language and Literature
  • Ability to inspire and engage students with a love for literature and the English language
  • Excellent classroom management skills and high expectations for student progress
  • Leadership experience or a desire to take on a KS4 Coordinator role
