Role as Deputy Head of Science:

As Deputy Head of Science, you will play a crucial role in shaping the vision of the department and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning across KS3-KS5. Working closely with the Head of Science, you will support curriculum development, mentor staff, and inspire students to achieve academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the Head of Science in driving the strategic direction of the department
  • Leading high-quality teaching and learning across KS3-KS5
  • Developing and implementing initiatives to improve student attainment and engagement
  • Mentoring and coaching teachers to enhance their classroom practice
  • Ensuring the effective use of resources and latest pedagogical approaches in Science
  • Coordinating extracurricular Science activities, including clubs, competitions, and trips
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to contribute to whole-school academic initiatives

  • A qualified Science Teacher with QTS and leadership experience (or the potential to step into leadership)
