Anti-Slavery & Human Trafficking policy
1. Definition
1.1 Modern slavery involves depriving a person of their freedom for personal or commercial gain through forms such as slavery, servitude, forced labour, and human trafficking. JobsinED maintains a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, committing to act ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships. This policy establishes expectations for employees to prevent, detect, and report any suspicion of modern slavery within the organisation or its supply chains.
1.2 The common factors are that a victim is, or is intended to be, used, or exploited for someone else’s (usually financial) gain, without respect for their human rights. The perpetrators seeking to take advantage of them could be private individuals, running small businesses or part of a wider organised crime network.
2. Policy Statement
2.1 Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. JobsinED is committed to ethical business practices, enforcing effective systems, and controlling mechanisms to prevent modern slavery within its business and supply chains. Transparency, high standards, and adherence to disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 are essential in our approach. The same standards are expected from contractors, suppliers, and business partners.
2.2 This policy applies to all individuals working for JobsinED, including employees, directors, agency workers, volunteers, and business partners. It does not form part of any employment contract and may be amended at any time.
3. Responsibility for the Policy
3.1 The board of directors holds overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with legal and ethical obligations related to modern slavery.
3.2 The Managing Director is responsible for implementing and monitoring the policy, dealing with queries, and auditing internal control systems.
3.3 Management at all levels ensures employee understanding and compliance with the policy through regular training.
3.4 Comments and suggestions for improvement are encouraged and should be addressed to the Managing Director.
4. Compliance with the Policy
4.1 All employees must read, understand, and comply with this policy.
4.2 The prevention, detection, and reporting of modern slavery are the responsibilities of all individuals under JobsinED's control.
4.3 Employees must promptly report any suspected breaches to their line manager or the Managing Director.
4.4 Concerns about modern slavery in any part of the business or supply chains should be raised at the earliest possible stage.
4.5 JobsinED supports those who raise genuine concerns, even if mistaken, and ensures no detrimental treatment for reporting suspicions of modern slavery.
5. Communication and Awareness of this Policy
5.1 Training on this policy is part of the induction process and ongoing for all individuals working for JobsinED.
5.2 The zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery is communicated to suppliers, contractors, and business partners at the beginning of our relationships.
